The LPSO publishes a daily arrest report on its website that lists everyone booked in the parish by date, with charges, arresting agency, and incident details. The LPD handles police reports for incidents responded to by city officers. The Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court keeps criminal case records once charges are filed. Lafayette Parish Daily Arrest Report

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office publishes a daily arrest report that is one of the most detailed public booking records available in Louisiana. The LPSO labels each report by date, such as "ARREST REPORTS FOR Wednesday, March 4, 2026." The report covers arrests made by multiple agencies including the Lafayette Police Department, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, Carencro Police, Broussard Police, and the Lafayette City Marshal.

Each entry in the daily report includes the arrested person's name, age, date and time of arrest, address, the charge or charges, the arresting agency, the cause for arrest, any property seized, and the incident number. This is more detail than most parish booking reports in Louisiana. The report is updated each day and is publicly available at no cost.

Lafayette Arrest Record Laws and Access

Louisiana's public records framework at LRS 44:1 and LRS 44:3 applies fully in Lafayette. Initial arrest reports, booking records, summons, citations, and bills of information are all public documents. Any adult can request them. The LPSO and LPD cannot require you to explain why you want a record. Copying fees are allowed, but access to inspect a record is free.

The LPSO's daily arrest report is a direct expression of this law. By posting bookings publicly each day, the sheriff's office makes it easy to find recent arrests without submitting a formal request. For older records not on the site, the written request process is available and governed by the same statute.

Criminal history data from the Louisiana State Police LACCH database is restricted under LRS 15:587. That system is not open to general public searches. You can request your own criminal history through the state police under LRS 15:588 for around $46. For a specific arrest report from Lafayette, you go to the LPSO or LPD directly under the public records law.
